We are about to start the second stage of investigations on the tar lagoon itself, gathering samples of material further into the lagoon. We have designed a bespoke pontoon and frame, materials for which have now been delivered to site and construction has begun. Once the pontoon is safely in place, we will start the process of drilling to collect samples later in June. Together with findings from all the other investigation work (both on- and off-lagoon), this will help inform our remediation strategy for the site.
