Drilling rigs are currently being used to collect samples of material from the lagoon itself. Planning this work has been understandably complex, ensuring the safety of workers on site.
A pontoon has been constructed to facilitate investigation of the tar lagoon, including a wooden frame which supports the weight of our drilling rigs. The on-lagoon investigation work is an important part of our site investigation activities and will inform the development of a remediation strategy for the site.
